There are two basic types of UK student visas.

– Tier 4 General Student Visa. This type of visa is available for students aged 16 or older who are attending a course in the UK for more than 6 months. With this Tier 4 visa, students will be allowed to work part-time while studying, according to UK Border Agency regulations. As long as the school you attend certifies that your new course is a continuation of your previous course, you will be able to extend your visa once you have immigrated to the UK.
